Welcome to the brave new world of Rummers. In the early 17th century, Holland was a European leader in technology and commerce. The Dutch pioneered large-scale distillation, producing a brown liquor from Brazilian sugar after travelling thousands of miles from their homeland. This drink, served in ornate Dutch Roemer glasses, would eventually become known as rum, named after the vessel it
was served in.

Rum has an image problem; its reputation as a cheap mixer belies its complex character. Rum’s aged variants can play in the ‘discernment’ space occupied by Cognac and single malt whisky, while its origins in the Caribbean and Latin America offer strong credentials of provenance.
With so many rich stories and history, there are few brands who credibly tell those stories without straying into caricature. Rummers aim to capture that space, to bring a new premium range of rums with strong heritage to the market.
